Galenbjørn is, or rather was, before he became a dragon, a Russian immigrant born in Svalbard. He worked in the coal mines of Barentsburg (Баренцбург). Although Svalbard is under Norwegian sovereignty, the unique Spitsbergen Treaty of 1920 allows citizens of signatory countries equal rights to exploit natural resources. Currently, Russia is the only country to maintain such a presence. Russia maintains a consulate in Barentsburg, the northernmost diplomatic mission of any kind in the world. Since his father is from Norway, he has a Norwegian name: "Galenbjørn" This guy will be the antagonist in a story I'm thinking up. Oh, he also has his own theme song: [link]
Done in CS3 in about ten hours. Used a new technique in an attempt to draw with less lines. All in all I'm satisfied how it came out.
Very beautiful! I like how all the colors, of both the dragon and the background, seem to go well together. That said, I also like the background quite a bit too.
Wow! That is gorgeous! The background, the northern lights effects. The soft glow given off the scales. Fantastic! I also like the regal pose, showing of its dominant look, yet it stands with a natural skill of grace. In other words, I really like it! ^^ Nice work!
Excellent depiction of a white dragon. And very interesting back story. That's some interesting info about the treaty. Maybe this guy can put things to right!. Excellent work.
